Behind the Badge: Hannah’s Story

What’s it like to support clients as a Client Success Manager (aka Paycom Specialist) at Paycom? We sat down with Hannah, a Senior Client Success Manager, from our Grapevine office to hear how she found her footing — and her confidence — right out of college.

Finding a path right out of college

When I graduated from college, I didn’t expect to find a company that felt like home so quickly. But at a university career fair, I met a Paycom recruiter who really sparked my interest. That one conversation led to an interview and, eventually, a job offer.

The interview process can be so stressful, especially as a new graduate when you’re juggling a million applications. But I really liked my interviewer and the people I met during the process. Even during my in-person interview, it didn’t feel stiff or uncomfortable. It just felt right.

I also didn’t have corporate experience, and I wasn’t sure what to expect. But from Day 1, I felt supported and set up for success. Now, I’ve been at Paycom for almost two years.

Helping clients win through collaboration

Most of what I do involves helping our client’s HR teams use Paycom’s software more effectively. But it’s not just about answering questions or solving issues — it’s about being a true partner to them.

I have clients who come to me with big initiatives, like onboarding hundreds of new employees after an acquisition. In one case, I worked closely with a client who had just brought on around 200 people at once. That required a lot of coordination and collaboration between our teams to make it work smoothly. It felt really rewarding to help them navigate that.

I love being able to build those relationships. It’s not like I’m just addressing basic issues. I’m showing them what’s possible with the tools they have and helping them unlock the full value of Paycom’s software. I like being part of those strategic conversations and watching the HR professionals I support grow in their roles, too.

Support that goes both ways

One of the things I’ve appreciated most about working here is how supportive the culture is. That team-oriented mindset is real. If I have a question, someone is always willing to jump in and help. I never feel like I’m on an island, even when things get busy.

When I first started, I worried that I had to know everything right away. But everyone kept telling me it’s okay to ask questions and not know everything at first. That really helped me feel more confident in those early months and gave me room to grow without the pressure of having it all figured out.

And I’ve learned so much just by being surrounded by people who want to help each other succeed. That kind of environment makes a huge difference.

Confidence in the future

Looking back at where I started and where I am now, I’ve grown a lot, both professionally and personally. I feel more confident, more capable and more connected to the work I do. And I know that wherever this path leads next, I’ll be ready for it.

Whether I’m partnering with clients, solving challenges or just sharing a laugh with a teammate, I genuinely enjoy what I do and the people I do it with. I’m proud to be part of a team that values growth, collaboration and support. I’m excited to see what comes next.
